Shoot the Bold and Brave Messenger

Shoot the Bold and Brave Messenger

The thinking and apparent way of operating among government officials, professional bureaucrats, the military brass, and their cooperating media attack dogs must be that if you shoot enough messengers perhaps the messengers will just stop coming.

And if you say a big lie often enough even the messengers will start believing it. So in that case there will be no need to shoot them. They will just fade away as surely as old soldiers. Those who put forth their propaganda have become accustomed to having their own way. And the public, by and large, seems happy enough to just dumb down and let them get their own way.

Surely, there must still be some brave souls out there who see the path of madness that the United States has pursued under the George Bush administration. The big lie, starting with the largely prefabricated reasons for taking out Saddam Hussein, and continuing whenever it is convenient have been a hallmark of the Bush misinformation administration.

That they have been helped along on their devious path by the mainstream media is a national disgrace. One that the majority of reporters, TV presenters, talking heads, and so called “expert” analysts, should be ashamed of. The overlooking of important issues by the mainstream news channels to focus on the trivial is troubling, especially in a presidential election year.

While the government may not physically shoot the messengers they have certainly sent them into a volley of personal attacks and in some cases have forced them into a silent place of early retirement.

Hopefully, the Bold Messenger can give a voice to the few who are willing to speak up. America can not survive as a first rate nation unless sweeping changes take place in the way politicians and professional bureaucrats and the Pentagon go about conducting their business.

What is the point of having a government if it can not serve the best interests of the majority of its citizens rather than the interests of a few people at the top?
