Getting your transmission to go longer

One of the repairs that will cost you a lot on a car is having the transmission done.  It is one of those repairs you hate to hear you have to do.So without question people are searching for methods to get their car to last longer.  Or they want to know if it is even possible. Like most things it is possible. You can do things that will help it last longer and that is by taking care of it.But here are some more things that are more specific in helping your transmission get more life.

First thing you always want to do is maintain proper fluid level.  Just like everything in your car you want to keep your fluids right.  But with a transmission it is crucial if you want your car to last longer.  Whenever a client takes there car in to the La Costa transmission repair shop I run I always check their fluids.  I also recommend they always keep a close eye on their fluid levels.  If they run their car with low fluids they will surely ruin their transmission.Or it will not give them as much life as they want.

Second thing they can do is that heat kills transmissions.  So what you want to do is make sure you keep your transmission cool. One of the ways that work best is by adding in some transmission cooler. You can get it at your local auto parts store.  Of course when clients come and bring their cars in to our Vista auto repair shop we add it in also. This allows the transmission to run a lot cooler.

Finally this way is going to be easy.Do not ever attempt to shift gears while the car is in motion. You will be shocked at how many people do ruin their vehicles because they shifted the gear while the car was in motion.  I am not because we see it all the time in our La Costa auto repair shop.People will have their cars brought in and they will have ruined transmissions because of this very thing.

Obama Signs Legislation On Every Business Having A Green Officer

In case you have not heard, President Barack Obama has just signed Executive Order 13514 on federal leadership in the environmental, energy, and economic performance. This means that every business that is government owned, or privately owned is required to have a Senior Sustainability Officer or a Green Officer employed. The main job of these Green Officers is to develop a sustainability performance plan; plus, businesses must create a committee on federal sustainability.

The purpose of a Senior Sustainability Officer or a Green Officer is first to advise the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Next, is to serve in the dual capacity of the Steering Committee on Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management designated by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) pursuant to section 4 Executive order 13423. Then, to share information and promote progress towards the goals of this order; and lastly, facilitate the implementation of each agency’s Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan.

This new legislation that has just passed is going to affect every business in America no matter how large or how small. We will first see this take effect in government owned businesses and organizations, and then it will trickle down to smaller businesses. At first, companies might see this new legislation as a bad thing that will cost more money that businesses don’t have. However, this legislation gives companies a enormous opportunity to save money through out their business.

These new Green Officers are going to give companies an opportunity to cut down on energy consumption, water consumption, transportation, sustainability, and other Green practices. The way the Green officer will enforce and implement these sustainable practices is by creating a Green program or plan for that specific company, depending on what their service or profession is.

To help companies cope with this difficult transaction of implementing a new Green Officer in their work place, the Green Business League has developed a Green Officer Training. The Green Officer Training offers a complete training program into two and a half, fast-paced days, and show any business how to properly install an environmental program that anyone can appreciate. The Green transition has been left to the best efforts of a few in-house employees who have no formal training in environmental principles. Good intentions that are stopped by limited information will lead to a program that lacks integrity.

How to Avoid Financial Ruin

As we begin the New Year, the nation’s economy is crumbling. It is becoming apparent that protecting your finances is extremely important in addition to protecting your identity. To get you off on the right foot, we have listed several tips and suggestions to get your financial house in order.

1. Separate Needs from Wants. Financial security and independence relies heavily on being a smart spender. Don’t, for example, eat out when you can cook at home. Eating is a need but eating out is a want. Being thrifty is truly a necessity. Pay close attention to discounts for things you need, and clip coupons whenever possible.

2. Have a cash stash that is equal to approximately 6 months of living expenses. Average out your utilities, food and other expenses and save some for a rainy day. Put a little back each payday in an account that you cannot touch or dig into. This is your emergency fund and shouldnt be touched unless it is absolutely necessary. If you DO dig into the fund, that money needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

3. Begin paying off your debt. Start with the highest interest bearing loans, like personal loans and credit cards and begin paying them off. These you should take care of BEFORE you begin saving any money. The interest accrued on these loans can be staggering over time and will save you money in the long run if you pay them off first.

4. Protect your Identity. Identity theft has become the crime of choice in recent years. It costs victims on estimated 6 billion dollars a year to pay for identity theft. You can protect your money and your identity with a service like Life Lock. Life Lock is a service that guarantees protection of your credit backed by $1,000,000 to you if they don’t. They help to reduce the amount of credit card offers you receive and pro-actively monitor your credit.
